Generations of families have enjoyed an English Riviera welcome, and yesterday's children are now returning with theirs, to share and create new memories. The area has certainly not rested on their laurels, constantly striving to improve the attractions on offer and provide 21st century entertainment for all the family. Quaywest is Britain's biggest, wildest and wettest theme park, with eight slides, two kiddies pool areas, a swimming pool and various food and retail outlets. Young thrill-seekers may also enjoy taking to the go-kart track, while nearby Goodrington sands is an award-winning blue flag beach that puts Baywatch in the shade.
Ride Go-Karts or Quad Bikes, or take a trip on the Steam Railway. Or take a step even further back in time with a visit to Kent's Cavern, by far the Riviera's oldest attraction dating back 2 million years. A sound and light show takes visitors back in time, before your knowledgeable and entertaining tour guide takes you on an exciting journey through the fascinating cave systems. Youngsters will love meeting Cavog the friendly troglodyte, while the more adventurous might like to go on a ghost tour - only the bravest need apply!
All the family will enjoy a day out at Paignton Zoo where you can meet the animals (and keepers) made famous by the BBC's 'Zookeepers' series. Home to thousands of animals, the zoo is now and education and scientific charity, dedicated to conserving our global wildlife heritage and inspiring in its many visitors a life long respect for animals and the environment.
The Model Village at Babbacombe is an enchanting recreation of towns, villages and gardens, as well as famous British landmarks including Stone Henge. New for this summer is the 4D Cinema, which is sure to thrill all the family, while over the Christmas period, Winter Wonderland sees the whole attraction blanketed in snow.
The English Riviera is a place for the whole family to relax - it is easy to see why generations of holidaymakers return year after year.
From the first glimpse of the sea on arrival, the resort provides the perfect welcome for families, keeping the younger ones entertained and happy, and giving mums and dads (not to mention grandparents, uncles and aunts) the chance to relax.
