Live Music

The English Riviera is alive with the sound of live music, with top international acts including Ash, Joss Stone and erm, Wishbone Ash all heralding from the local area. The area remains a breeding ground for hot new talent and it's certainly worth checking the local press for the weekly line-up of live soloists and bands appearing in the local bars and clubs. Who knows, you might be lucky enough to discover the 'next big thing!'

Riviera Live is an annual tourist board initiative, aimed at providing a soundtrack to the summer. Every weekend during the summer months, the harbour areas play host to a huge range of diverse live acts playing everything from opera and classical, to soul and blues. Pop into one of the Tourist Information Centres to check out the full evolving line-up each week.

The Tourist Information Centres also sell tickets for theatres and other venues around the Bay hosting live music events. These can include everything from classical and choir performances in church halls, to proms in the Princess Theatre and big name acts in the Riviera International Centre. The events section of this website includes detailed listings of all live events taking place across the Bay.

The English Riviera is also planning a live music festival in 2008, so keep an eye on this website for details of this huge new event. From licensed buskers to large-scale performances, the English Riviera is a musical Mecca and no visit would be complete without enjoying some toe-tapping fun.
