Nightclubs & Bars

As you'd expect from one of the most popular holiday destinations in the UK, there's an impressive range of nightlife to enjoy, whether you are here for a weekend break or a longer getaway. The English Riviera really knows how to party and over the last couple of years the nightlife offering has grown to include some amazing new state-of-the-art venues, where the music is pumping and the drinks are flowing.

And it's not all about the young whippersnappers -  all tastes are catered for, including venues playing everything from 70s and 80s classics to soul and funk. There's no shortage of cabaret venues as well. Here's a selection of our favourites. See you on that dance floor...

The Foundry

The Foundry is a state-of-the-art nightclub and multipurpose event space, hosting world renowned DJ's, live acts, star PA's, sports events (including boxing and darts) and bands. Part of a newly refurbished multi-venue site built in the former Scala Building, The Foundry is one of four nightclubs which also includes Decades, Park Lane and The Attic, with a combined capacity of more than 3000 people. Decades Retro Lounge and Club

If you fancy a night of retro party tunes, this is one of the best nights out in the Bay, with reasonably priced drinks and very funky décor and lighting throughout. There's more of a chill-out sociable area downstairs, while head upstairs for a full-on dance party, playing the best in 70s and 80s tunes. Perfect for partying like it's 1989.

Lucky Number 7 Club

The Lucky 7 Club is a vintage venue hidden in the centre of Paignton. Quirky, vintage, colourful, eclectic – an unexpected delight delivering burlesque, live music, cabaret, swing dancing, gin tasting and more. Join as a member or guest to purchase tickets and reveal the location! Ssssh did someone say speakeasy?

Soho Lounge and Bar

The perfect hybrid of a champagne cocktail bar and a packed dance venue, Soho blends outrageous interior design, cutting-edge sound and lighting, premium drinks and live DJs till the early hours. You can't miss the venue, it has more lights than some Vegas casinos, while the Secret Garden (complete with gnomes in the trees) is the perfect evening chill-out space.     

Other Late-Night Venues

Revolution is a popular new chain venue near Torquay Harbourside, featuring great food, affordable cocktails and a dance party every Friday and Saturday night until 2am. Yates is another new venue in Torquay, also boasting live music (Thursday nights) and DJ's taking the party through to the early hours every weekend. Park Lane is a newly refurbished bar, grill and nightclub, with DJ's in the main bar area every Friday and Saturday and the top floor housing some banging parties. Last but not least, The Attic is a stripped back venue and the home of alternative and live music, as well as everything from hardcore to psytrance.

Vinyl Avengers

DJ Loadz and Lady Jade play at regular pop-up party nights across Torbay, for fans of retro sounds, all played on original Vinyl. Expect the likes of Retro Soul, Mod, Ska, 2-Tone, 60's Beat, 70's Funk, Motown and Northern Soul.  There's a real underground but friendly vibe to these parties.
