Our mild micro-climate means spring comes earlier to Torbay than other parts of the country. Admire the camellias and spring bulbs at the National Trust’s Greenway House or Coleton Fishacre during a guided tour of the garden. If you’re visiting in the Easter holidays you’ll find Easter egg hunts at these houses as well as at many of our other attractions, like Kents Cavern and Babbacombe Model Village. Or take the kids for an egg hunt with a bit of a difference at Paignton Zoo and discover it’s not just birds who lay eggs.
By May half-term, the sea is starting to warm up and the soft sand of the beaches are transformed every tide with little castles decorated with shells. Bring the family for a half-term holiday in Torbay and take advantage of the early sunshine on the beach without the crowds. May is also when our events calendar starts to really hot up too. And whilst the summer may be over, the glorious reds and oranges of the leaves in autumn make October half-term the perfect time to pull on your wellies for a walk through the country park.
