Driving on the English Riviera
The long beachfront strip in Torquay may be the perfect place to pose in your wheels. But you don’t have to have an open top sports car to enjoy driving in the English Riviera. Making it easier for motorists, you’ll find plenty of car parks close to beaches, town centres, and our top attractions. There are designated disabled parking spaces in car parks in Torquay, Paignton, Brixham and Babbacombe. And all drivers can enjoy special discounted permits available for 4 day or 8 day stays, so you won’t have to worry about finding enough change or overstaying your time.

Getting around
If you’re arriving in the English Riviera by bus, train, or plane, use the timetables find out more about getting around during your stay.
Paignton bus and train stations are conveniently located in the centre of the town, just a short stroll from the beachfront. From here you can continue your journey to explore all the delights of South Devon. Catch the steam train to Kingswear and then get on the passenger ferry to Dartmouth. Catch the luxuriously appointed Gold Bus to Torquay or Plymouth.
From Torquay harbour you can catch a regular boat service across the Bay to Brixham. So much more than just a quick and convenient way to travel, you can enjoy Torbay from the water and you may even find you’re joined by a dolphin or two. Boat trips also run to Dartmouth, taking you past the famous Mewstone, where you may catch a glimpse of sunbathing seals.
