Devon's beautiful English Riviera with its lovely resort towns of Torquay, Paignton and Brixham are paradise to the swimmer. Not only does it have a superb coastline and beautiful beaches but there are lots of stylish swimming pools too from the elegant to the familytastic. Don't miss one of Britain's very coolest pools, Shoalstone Outdoor Pool and Lido in Brixham.

Shoalstone Outdoor Pool and Lido, Brixham

Shoalstone Pool is a 53 metre sea water swimming pool situated in a stunning position on Brixham water front, one of only a few left in the country. It is built into a natural rock pool that has been popular for bathing since Victorian times. In 1896 two walls were built to retain the tidal water that flooded in. Noted by The Times newspaper as one of Britain’s coolest pools, Shoalstone Pool is open from May to September. Entry is free but a modest donation is requested.

Berry Head Hotel, Brixham

This wonderful Brixham hotel has a year-round indoor pool available for residents and non-residents. Jacuzzi and sauna also available.

Waves Leisure Pool, Torquay

Waves is a wonderfully family-friendly leisure pool at Torquay Riviera International Centre for year-round fun. The water is heated to 30 degrees and there’s a flume and wave machine. Enjoy activities for all ages including water-play activity centre and toddler slide, featuring water jets, fill 'n' spill buckets, hand wheels and water wheels. You can also try also aqua aerobics and swimming lessons. You'll also find a health and fitness suite, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room here. Full day and 7-day holiday passes available.

Grand Hotel Leisure Club, Torquay

The Grand Leisure Club is a stylish year-round indoor pool plus seasonal outdoor pool is available to hotel residents.

Imperial Hotel Health & Leisure Club, Torquay

Residents can use the club’s indoor pool all year round plus the outdoor pool (seasonal) with wonderful views of Torbay. Club membership is available for non-residents and there is also a jacuzzi, sauna and spa. Spa day packages include use of the leisure club facilities.

TLH Aztec Leisure Club, Torquay

There is a choice of indoor or outdoor pools so you can swim all year round. The Aztec falls Indoor Pool is 25 metres and ideal for serious swimmers whilst the Fun Pool is a free form fun pool with a toddlers’ pool alongside. Swim-only tickets are available for non-residents. There is also a sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and spa.

Torbay Leisure Centre, Paignton

This beautiful 33ft pool at Clennon Valley in Paignton offers open swimming, lane swimming, aqua aerobics plus swimming lessons including courses for babies. The centre also offers a creche and other activities such as gym and sports.

Splashdown Quaywest, Paignton

Right behind the beach at Goodrington is Splashdown, the UK’s biggest outdoor waterpark with spectacular views of the beach and the Bay. As well as the eight exhilarating waterslides there is a 20-metre long swimming pool with sun terraces plus a special area for toddlers.
