English Riviera Business Improvement District

The English Riviera is the official tourism brand for Torbay. It is run by the English Riviera Business Improvement District (ERBID) Company. 

We truly believe that by working together, we are stronger, and this is exactly what the ERBID Company is. It is an arrangement under which local businesses work together to improve the tourism sector in Torbay. The company represents over 1,300 tourism businesses and predominantly these include accommodation, eateries and attractions.

Every one of these businesses pay a small levy towards the ERBID Company, and in return, they are listed on the English Riviera website, featured in marketing, and have a say in how the collective levy is spent.

Every five years, a ballot must be held as to whether the ERBID Company should continue. Each levy payer is entitled to a vote. 

The ERBID Company is run by three full time employees, supported by a board of directors.  The company is based at 5 Vaughan Parade, Torquay, TQ2 5JG. You can find out more about the English Riviera BID Company here.
