Crimdon Dene was built in the early 1900’s and is a licensed guest house.
Whether you’re visiting Torquay for business or pleasure Crimdon Dene’s personalised service and ageless tradition of hospitality will make your stay a memorable and comfortable one.
There are upper floor and ground floor guest rooms, all decorated to a high standard with modern furnishings and en-suite facilities and showers. There are single, double, twin and family rooms and each room has full central heating, a safe to store your valuables, an ironing board, flat screen TV with Freeview and tea and coffee making facilities. Guests are provided with a key to the outer door in the bar lounge area which leads to the car park and footpath as well as a room key so you can access your room at any time during the day and evening. For added convenience there is free Wi-Fi and a pay phone in the building. There are 8 car parking spaces for guests arriving by car, and there is unrestricted parking on the road.
The English Riviera has excellent transport connections to the rest of the country as well as a regular local bus service which runs between Torquay, Babbacombe (2 miles), Paignton (2.8 miles) and Brixham (8.2 miles). Take a trip on the Torquay land train to see some iconic landmarks such as Torre Abbey Museum (0.2 miles), a former monastery and ancient scheduled monument or enjoy a ride on the Western Lady passenger ferry across Tor Bay, running between the quaint fishing town of Brixham and Torquay to marvel at the Naturally Inspiring scenery. Or jump aboard the delightful steam train which starts at Paignton station and travels along the beautiful coastline and UNESCO Global Geopark to Kingswear, it’s great fun for all ages.
Enjoy a freshly cooked full English or continental breakfast with a large selection of cereals, juices, fruits, homemade yoghurts and preserves to set you up for the day.
The English Riviera has many top attractions to suit all tastes and interests. Bygones Museum (1.7 miles) is packed with three floors of fascinating displays and an authentic life-size Victorian street and shopping arcade. Listen and see the hustle and bustle of everyday living in Victorian times. Close by Babbacombe Model Village (1.8 miles) is an award-winning outdoor attraction with thousands of intricate, miniature buildings and characters set in 4 acres of gardens, capturing the essence of England. At dusk you can enjoy thousands of miniature lights creating a magical and enchanting atmosphere. Get up close to over 2,000 exotic and protected animals at Paignton Zoo (4.1 miles) in 80-acre parkland and Living Coasts aquarium and coastal zoo (1.4 miles), home to magnificent array of marine life.
There are 5 top theatres across Torquay, Babbacombe, Paignton and Brixham to visit, each showcasing a variety of shows, live performances and family-friendly events. Princess Theatre (1.1 miles), Babbacombe Theatre (2.2 miles), Little Theatre (1.7 miles), Palace Theatre (3.3 miles) and Brixham Theatre (7.9 miles) are open all year round and are year-round attractions, popular with visitors and locals.
Crimdon Dene has a well-stocked, ground floor licensed bar and lounge area for guests to enjoy or if you fancy a night out on the tiles there are over 100 pubs, inns and bars to choose with many in fantastic waterfront locations with spectacular sea views. There’s also Buzz Bingo (1 mile) within a short walking distance.
At Crimdon Dene, we welcome solo travellers, business professionals, couples and families. There is a child rate when sharing a family room with 2 adults. Please be aware that children under the age of 7 years or family pets (unless service dogs) cannot be accommodated.
