Fatboy Slim with special guests Idris Elba, Paul Woolford, Kilimanjaro, Sarah Story and Alex Souloud
Undoubtedly one of the most successful dance artists of all time, Norman Cook, better know as Fatboy Slim, will bring his infectious energy and huge outdoor festival production to Electric Bay on Saturday 12th July at their beautiful Devonshire seafront setting in Torquay.
Known for timeless hits like “Praise You”, “Right Here, Right Now”, “The Rockafeller Skank” and “Eat, Sleep, Rave, Repeat”, Fatboy Slim dominates the global dance music scene and remains one of the world’s most in-demand DJs. He famously attracted over quarter of a million people to Brighton Beach in 2002 and since then has become a must-see performer at major festivals around the world.
Bloc Party
When you look back at the sea of mid-noughties indie bands, there are few still standing and even fewer, some 20 years later, who are still experiencing career highs. But this was the precise spot Bloc Party found themselves in.
Moving from hooky post-punk to ambitious genre-mashing — and back again — Bloc Party’s artistic restlessness has served them well since the early 2000s. The mix of ‘s impassioned yelp and Russell Lissack’s angular riffs on their first EPs helped shape British indie rock for the rest of the decade, but by the time Bloc Party released their platinum-selling 2005 debut album Silent Alarm, they’d added atmospheres drawn from post-rock and electronic textures to their style.
Andy C
With over 40 awards to date, Andy C’s career has been nothing short of a phenomenon. He’s sold-out 02 Arena, Wembley Arena and with his own solo shows, played headline slots at the world’s greatest festivals including Creamfields, Glastonbury, EDC, and SW4, and released a string of phenomenal crossover anthems like ‘Heartbeat Loud’ and club cuts like ‘New Era’.
A reputation as one of the most significant British artists in global dance music has been hard earned.
Hedex
Hedex has become a flagbearer for a new generation of hi-energy, jump up drum & bass that has captured the imagination of dancefloors all over the world over the last two years. Riding high off the back of his recent UK Top 20 single ‘Liquor and Cigarettes’ alongside drum & bass kingpins Chase & Status and ArrDee, and other heavyweight collaborations with Tiesto & Tion Wayne with numerous tours sold out across the globe and a buddening new label ‘MHITR’ in the works, this really is just the start for the young DNB kingpin.
Goldie
Music pioneer, contemporary/graffiti artist, drum & bass icon, DJ, actor and producer. Goldie is a total original, a multi talented shape shifter, who’s sold more than 3 million records worldwide. Against all odds, and despite a traumatic childhood, he succeeded in unleashing his boundless creativity from a very young age. He transformed an underground British sound into a mainstream international movement with the evolution of drum & bass, collaborating along the way with major pop icons.
