The Gainsboro is a desirable Victorian Terrace house built in 1860 offering excellent bed & breakfast accommodation in a warm and welcoming family home.
We offer a friendly & professional service to enable our guests to have a relaxing & enjoyable stay.
Our hearty & full English breakfast will set you up for the day, or you can choose a healthy light or vegetarian option.
If you feel like relaxing in our beautiful garden you are more than welcome as a host of wildlife visits it.
The Gainsboro is set in an excellent location with a park in front of us & away from the hussle & bussle of the town yet close enough to many amenities to enjoy your stay.
We have 4 onsite parking spaces available and plenty of free parking on the street outside the property.
Our guest house is situated within 5 minutes walk to the beach and even less to Torre Abbey. If you are coming to Torquay by train the station is in walking distance which makes it great for days out. Leave the car on the drive and away you go. We are also in a very green area with park views from the front two rooms.
Whether you’re traveling alone or with company, one of our rooms is definitely tailored for your needs. All our rooms are ensuite and are equipped with all the necessary amenities including free WiFi, The decor simply speaks for itself.

From the M5 :• Exit at Junction 31 continue forward onto the A38.• Keep in left hand lanes then branch left, merge onto the A380 and continue to Torquay.• At the 2nd roundabout take the 1st exit onto A3022.• At traffic lights by Torre Railway Station bear right onto the A3022 (signposted Brixham, Paignton).• When you reach the traffic lights at the seafront turn right.• Stay in the right hand lane and turn right at the next lights.• Pass Torquay Railway Station on your left then bear left onto Rathmore Road.• We are located about half way down the road on the left
