Paula & Ray welcome you to Grosvenor House, a charming, licensed guest house, situated in a quiet but central Torquay location, just behind Torre Abbey. From the many Guest Houses, Hotels and B&B accommodation in Torquay, we are in one of the best positions as a base to see Torquay and the English Riviera.
Just 400 metres from the Riviera International Conference Centre, we are especially well located for those guests attending one of the many conferences, events or seminars. And for those of you solely here on business, free Wi-Fi is available throughout. It’s he same distance to Torre Abbey, so if you’re attending a wedding or event then we couldn’t be much closer!

Our licensed bar offers an opportunity to meet friends old and new and enjoy our range of local bottled ales and ciders, lagers, a selection of wines, popular spirits, with or without a mixer. Fresh bean-to-cup coffees, a selection of teas and soft drinks are, of course, also available. We also have a separate lounge with large screen TV and a selection of games/quizzes for all ages.
Breakfast is served in our comfortable dining room, and offers a selection of cereals, porridge, fruits and juices and yoghurts. A full cooked selection is always available, including traditional ‘Full English’ plus any combination of items, with many breakfast specials, available to order the previous evening. Why not finish off with some toast and preserves, and to drink a selection of fine teas and coffees.
Staying at Grosvenor House puts you within easy walking distance of the beach, town centre, Princess Theatre, and Torquay Harbour, with a picturesque marina. Buses stop outside and Torquay Station is also close by.
Nearby attractions include the thatched cottage village of Cockington, and Greenway House, Agatha Christie’s home. Or, if it is walking that you enjoy, Grosvenor House is ideally placed for many varied walks along the South West Coastal Path, or inland on Dartmoor.
Your hosts, Paula, Ray and our small team, are well established on the Riviera, having received outstanding reviews for our hospitality from day one. That means we have the pleasure of welcoming back, many repeat guests who have become friends, some year after year, and others several times a year!
Our aim is to make your stay as pleasurable as possible, whether here on business, visiting family or friends, on a romantic break, or in Torquay to enjoy the stunning sights, sounds and attractions, that the Riviera has to offer.
