The Bahamas is an independent, bed & breakfast hotel located in Torquay, South Devon. Our aim is to provide our guests with a warm welcome and modern, clean and comfortable accommodation at a competitive price. 

We offer quality guest accommodation operating on a bed & breakfast basis, with free wi-fi internet access and ample free parking for all hotel guests.

Our Bedrooms include:

Premier Double Rooms

Our two Premier Doubles are our largest rooms, both refurbished to a high standard including   super-kingsize beds, 32" flatscreen TVs, sofa, coffee table and tub chairs, for additional guest comfort.

One of these rooms can be configured as either a super-kingsize double bed or as twin beds, depending on guest preference.

Standard Double Rooms

The hotel contains five standard double rooms, all decorated in a contemporary fashion. Two are located on the ground floor and three on the first floor.

Single Rooms

We also have two single rooms, both being situated on the first floor.

Family 3 / Twin Room

The Bahamas has one room that caters for families, containing one double and one single bed. Alternatively, this room is also suitable for two adults sharing.

Please note: we do not accommodate children younger than 8 years old nor, more than 2 adults sharing.

The English Riviera consists of the three towns of Torquay, Paignton (3 miles) and Brixham (8 miles). Cockington Village and Cockington Country Park and Manor House (1.8 miles) is a charming, quintessentially English village not to be missed during your stay. With thatched roof cottages, horse-drawn carriages, rose-filled gardens, delicious Devon Cream Teas and an artisan craft centre, you’ll find plenty of photo opportunities.

Torre Abbey Museum & Gardens, famous for Agatha Christie's potent plants and the Riviera International Conference Centre are a short level stroll away with Torre Abbey Sands being just that little bit further.  Enjoy the lovely sea view walk along to the theatre or on to the Harbour, with many cafes and bars along the way.

There are some lovely coastal and woodland walks nearby as the area’s 22 miles of coastline forms part of the English Riviera’s UNESCO Global Geopark and the South West Coast Path. As one of Earth’s extraordinary places, if you love to be outdoors there are so many places to visit and explore whether on foot, cycling or taking a trip on a ferry. Being beside the coast means that there are plenty of water-based activities to try including paddle boarding, kayaking, coasteering, sailing and many other possibilities.
