The Baytree is an ideal base to explore Torquay and the English Riviera, a designated UNESCO Global Geopark. If you enjoy walking or rambling and are thinking of exploring the local area on foot, follow the famous South West Coast Path, which meanders along the 22 miles of the English Riviera coastline. No car travel or parking is required, just get your boots on and start exploring. Great for in-expensive days out we can provide a packed lunch (at a small cost, let us know the day before) or if you prefer, why not call into one of the country pubs to try the local beer or visit a tea room serving delicious, traditional Devon cream teas.
Spend a day out at the picture-postcard village of Cockington (1.5 miles) with its thatched cottages, rose gardens, manor house and country park. The nearby district of Babbacombe (1.8 miles) has stunning, far-reaching views from Green Flag award-winning Babbacombe Downs, and the charming Babbacombe Cliff Railway, popular Babbacombe Theatre for variety shows and award-winning Babbacombe Model Village are definitely worth a visit.
