About
The Briarfields is a 5 star gold award, adult only bed & breakfast in a popular area of Torquay. Spend a well-deserved break in our contemporary and well-designed guest accommodation. Situated in the heart of the tourist area of Avenue Road we are within easy walking distance of Torquay sea front (0.8 miles), Riviera International Conference Centre (0.4 miles) and only a mile from Torquay's North Quay, busy Marina and harbour where you will find many bars, cafés, restaurants, nightclubs and Princess Theatre within easy reach.
We have a selection of high quality luxurious and contemporary bedrooms for you to choose from. We offer spotlessly clean, boutique-style accommodation and luxury suites, superior and standard rooms and we can accommodate single visitors in our double rooms or guest suites. All rooms have comfortable beds, blackout curtains, hair dryer and toiletries, tea and coffee-making facilities, digital TVs, complimentary Wi-Fi and i-Pod docks, and many of the rooms have air-conditioning.
Guests arriving by car or motorbike can use the free onsite parking and take advantage of the excellent transport links connecting the English Riviera to the rest of the country and across South Devon. Torquay Railway Station (0.8 miles), Torre Railway Station (0.4 miles) and Lymington Road coach station (1.6 miles) are within easy reach and there are many local taxi companies available all year round.
Breakfast is served every morning in the guest dining room and is included in the room tariff. We provide an award winning, locally-sourced breakfast in our breakfast room each morning.
At The Briarfields you can rely on excellent accommodation and customer service in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Our ideal location means that you can easily access local beaches, award-winning visitor attractions, places of interest and beautiful parks and gardens. Cockington Court and Country Park (2 miles) is a popular site with visitors to the area, with quaint thatched cottages, pretty rose-filled gardens and a haven for sampling delicious Devon cream teas.
The Briarfields is an ideal location for walkers wishing to explore the area and follow the South West Coast Path, which runs along the 22 miles of English Riviera coastline from Babbacombe (2.1 miles) in Torquay through Paignton (3.2 miles) to Brixham (8 miles). Cycling, sailing, fishing, golf, tennis and bowling are just some of the activities available on our doorstep and there’s so much more to see and do!
Torquay town centre is within easy reach with a range of high street and independent shops and Gala Bingo (1.3 miles)
For an arts and culture fix, take a trip to Torre Abbey Museum, only a 10-minute (0.4 mile), flat walk away and a must-see whilst staying in the area. The Abbey is a 12th Century Ancient Scheduled Monument with beautifully presented heritage rooms and galleries with interactive displays, an impressive art collection and gardens with exotic plants and glasshouses. It’s the perfect setting to relax, stroll around the grounds and learn interesting facts about the local area.
The English Riviera unique landscape has designated UNESCO Global Geopark status, one of only 7 in the UK and 140 in the whole world. Kents Cavern prehistoric caves (2.7 miles), Torquay Museum (1.6 miles) and Berry Head Nature Reserve (9.1 miles) are some of the main gateway sites to the Global Geopark.
If you’re looking for a relaxing break and want to head to the English Riviera for a beach holiday, there are 20 local beaches on offer with 10 having received the prestigious Blue Flag and Seaside Awards. From long sandy beaches for sunbathing to charming secret coves for coasteering, there’s something for everyone. Torre Abbey Sands (0.7 miles), Corbyn Head Beach (1.1 miles), Livermead Sands (1.4 miles) and Beacon Cove (1.6 miles) are all accessible from Briarfields.
We look forward to welcoming you soon.
