About
The Cimon is set in a magnificent 1860’s detached Victorian villa retaining many original period features combined with modern comforts. Our guests can enjoy the use of two comfortable relaxed seating areas and the residents well-stocked bar, with board games at the ready. The bright and airy breakfast room looks out over the large patio with tropical plants and our 30ft swimming pool. From May to September our pool is open and heated – we offer sun-loungers and complimentary pool towels with a south facing aspect we can have sun all day. There is plenty of space on the two terraces for relaxing under a palm or two. The Cimon benefits from plenty of free onsite parking and we offer free access to fibre optic wifi throughout.
A range of gorgeous en-suite rooms to suit families, couples and singles all with flat-screen TV, complimentary refreshment tray and a small fridge. Our superior sea view and family rooms have a spectacular panoramic south-facing vista across Torbay to Paignton and Brixham. Who doesn’t love a seaview!
We, Julia and Jamie, run the guest house with passion and care for our guests and also the environment so careful sourcing of food served, products used, and effort to be eco-responsible is made. Did you know Torbay is a UNESCO Geopark and a Marine Conservation Zone?
The Cimon is well located being just a 5 minute walk from Torquay’s sandy beach, Torre Abbey and another 5 minutes get you to the Riviera International Conference centre, the bustling promenade with Princess Theatre, the shops and of course the Marina with its wide choice of bars and restaurants – something for everyone from the essential fish and chips to a Michelin star. It is also a short distance from the Agatha Christie Mile, the location for a tour of her life and work. The dazzling beauty of the South West Coastal Path is on the doorstep along with the many attractions of the English Riviera. You can leave the car behind with excellent local transport links (buses or even a ferry to hop around on?) and a short taxi ride from Torquay’s two train stations.
Whilst located in the popular heart of Torquay, The Cimon is set back from the road offering a quiet, relaxing haven. You can enjoy a warm welcome, attentive service and a comfortable stay at this independent family run establishment.
Please book direct for the best rates and offers.

* Boot rack and space for drying outside of guest bedroom
* Local maps available
* Local knowledge available
* Laundrette only 10 minutes walk or 4 minutes drive from guest house
