The history of the original Carlton building dates back to 1878 when it was known as the Belgrave Hall. It became the final addition to the TLH group in 1992 and today features the luxury Aztec Spa, Pool, Gym & Fitness Studio. The close links to the Aztec Spa make the TLH Carlton Hotel the perfect place to stay for year-round Spa Breaks.

With just a 7 minute walk from Torquay’s seafront, The TLH Carlton offers easy access to the beach, harbour and town centre. Not to mention Abbey Park, this is just a short stroll away. The green is a large open space, great for a sunny picnic, and the park is host to a range of activities, such as tennis and crazy golf. There’s also a display of gorgeous flowers and a pond and water fountain making it a tranquil spot for all to enjoy.

The TLH Carlton Hotel has a welcoming atmosphere with 70 en suite bedrooms spread over 3 floors, many of which are suitable for families. The modern, airy rooms all feature a private bathroom, TV and tea and coffee making facilities. Most rooms have lift access, and free Wi-Fi and free parking are also included. Being one of only a handful of Torquay hotels situated near the seafront, you can upgrade to one of the Carlton’s Riviera Front bedrooms for spectacular sea views across the Bay. There are also 3 self-catering apartments if you prefer to have your own fully equipped kitchen and the freedom of eating when you please.

Food & drink are essential to a good holiday, so all of our guests can enjoy a wide choice of venues throughout the Carlton Hotel and across the whole TLH Leisure Resort. The Carlton’s elegant restaurant serves buffet-style breakfasts and table d’hôte evening meals, with additional a la carte and children’s choices available. The sunny Riviera Ballroom and Bar has spectacular views across the Bay and is the perfect place to relax with a drink.

You can also kick back and relax in the laid-back atmosphere of the themed Aztec Bistro restaurant. Open daily for coffees, snacks, light lunches plus wine, beer & spirits and there’s a fantastic south-facing pool terrace for al fresco drinking & dining when the weather is fine.
