About
When we first decided to open a café we always knew we wanted to serve fresh, healthy, modern food with options for everyone. We wanted a family or group of friends who had meat eaters, vegetarians, vegans and coeliacs to be able to come to our café and all eat together happily! We wanted to make as much of our food on the premises as possible, our own peanut butter, tomato ketchup, granola and cook our meals from scratch.
Our Chef Ashley has had years of experience in catering, he started his career in Dartmouth whilst he was still at school then worked his way up the catering ladder working in Dart Royal Navy College, Café Ode, Pier Point and The Elizabethan Inn.
With two of us being vegetarian we were very keen to have plenty of vegetarian & vegan options on the menu. It’s not often we go to a café (that’s not a specific vegetarian one) where there’s more than one or two vegetarian choices on the menu so we made it a priority to create lots of delicious, healthy and unique vegetarian dishes that will appeal to meat eaters too! We haven’t forgot the meat eaters though! All our meat & fish is responsibly sourced from the best suppliers we could find; you can read more about our suppliers HERE!
Our Coffee is something that’s been very important to us from the beginning, with Sue being a bit of coffee connoisseur, she was very passionate about us creating a perfect cup of coffee every time. With training from Ashley we now feel like we’ve mastered the art of the espresso and we now have our very own blend supplied by Costa Rica Plantation in Torquay. For those of you who don’t drink coffee we also supply a large range of loose leaf teas and local soft drinks.
