About
With breath-taking views overlooking Brixham harbour, The Old Market House is a spectacular restaurant and bar. Whether it’s a relaxed family lunch or a special dinner for two, there are a variety of casual dining options available within in our atmospheric Grade ll listed building.
Choose between the downstairs bar menu with counter service or go upstairs for table service by our friendly team. Downstairs is dog friendly, so please bring your pup in to say hello! On sunny days, why not sit outside on the balcony for a chance to watch the fisherman land their catch, marvel at the colourful costumed pirates, or simply enjoy the stunning sea views across the English Riviera.
We are proud to use delicious ingredients grown, reared or caught in Devon and Cornwall, accompanied by award winning beers and fine wines. Where possible, our chefs use fresh, local produce cooked on the premises, minimising the use of pre-prepared food. Our main menu changes to match the season, portraying the best local dishes with hearty warming dishes in winter and light fresh meals in summer. Ask at the bar for our children’s menu where you will find family favourites that will please even the fussiest eater!
And if you don’t fancy a full meal, why not pop in for a coffee! We offer freshly made Brewer & Bean coffee, using 100% arabica beans giving a medium body blend packed full of flavour. The beans are hand roasted in Cornwall and freshly ground to order.
As well as delicious food and drink, we also hold special events, including live music. Check out our social media pages for the latest updates.
The Old Market House is proud to be completely accessible with ramps for the front entrance and a wheelchair lift taking you to the upstairs eating area.
We are conveniently situated in the centre of Brixham, a small yet bustling town offering plenty to see and do. Spend the afternoon crabbing in the harbour, wander through the weekly craft markets where locals sell their creative wares or catch the Town Band performing live music under the Old Fish Market. And after, rest your weary feet and pop into The Old Market House for some refreshments.
“Well over the 2 weeks we were here we stopped off here several occasions one of a couple of places with plenty of out door seating for a nice cold beer and watch the world go by in the beautiful brixham sunshine.”
“Cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough....views to die for, food was spectacular and staff were welcoming and friendly. Well worth a visit!”
“Great menu, for a meat eater and fish eater. Not too expensive and lovely to sit on the first floor balcony or outside on ground level.”
“Staff were really lovely, so helpful and friendly. Food was good and this is a great spot to watch the world go by!”
