About
Berry Head is a National Nature Reserve. This stunning headland, with its iconic lighthouse and Napoleonic Fort, is surrounded by water on three sides and offers exceptional views across Torbay and beyond. It is Torbay’s most designated heritage site being a Special Area of Conservation, National Nature Reserve, Site of Special Scientific Interest and Scheduled Ancient Monument to name only four!
Let us inspire you! Pop into our Visitor Centre for help and advice as well as maps and information about what you can see and do. We have lots of tales to tell and stories of the headland’s rich history, varied wildlife and our work, Torbay Coast & Countryside Trust, who care for this incredible place . There are interactive displays and watch live feed from our resident cliff camera, streaming images of the largest breeding colonies of guillemots on the south coast of England. These are Berry Head’s most famous residents, peaking at 1,400 birds during the breeding season! Our centre is run by a small team of local, passionate volunteers.
The Centre is closed currently because of COVID-19 restrictions but you can check for updates on our website.
