About
THIS EVENT IS PART OF THE ENGLISH RIVIERA WALKING FESTIVAL
This is the walk which keeps on giving!
Our walk begins on board a steam train! Departing from Paignton Steam , we are transported back to a bygone era of travel en route to Kingswear, along Brunel’s famous track, from where we take a short ferry ride to the imposing naval town of Dartmouth.
We head towards Dartmouth Castle, past enviable waterside homes and breath-taking views across to Dartmouth Naval College. The route winds its way to Little Dartmouth, hugging the coastline, before arriving in the quaint village of Stoke Fleming and onto Blackpool Sands for lunch, named Britain’s finest beach by Conde Nast Traveller (which even includes a sauna on the beach!)
Once we’ve rested, the route picks up the South West Coast Path heading back to Dartmouth, which offers magnificent vistas along this area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB). On our return, guests will receive a short historic tour of Dartmouth, before boarding the ferry and steam train back to Paignton. This is a truly extraordinary walking experience!
