Situated in one of the most idyllic waterfront locations on the English Riviera, Beach Cottage is a quaint thatched-roof self-catering cottage tucked away in an enviable, secluded spot overlooking Babbacombe Bay, Torquay.

With some of the English Riviera’s most breath-taking scenery to wake up to, Beach Cottage has plenty of seaside charm. Take in the South Devon local hospitality and finest produce, stunning landscape and Mediterranean-style climate.
Enjoy a beach hut-style holiday in Devon
This charming fully furnished holiday cottage sleeps up to 6 people and has 1 elegant King Double guest room, 1 twin/Zip Super-King and a children’s twin room. Beach Cottage consists of 1 family bathroom and 2 shower rooms to there’s plenty of space for all the family. The spacious lounge has an open log fire for cosy nights in and the New England-style kitchen has all modern amenities including a dishwasher and Aga cooker.
On arrival you’ll receive a welcome hamper to make you feel really special and a mid-week housekeeping service is available if you’re planning a long stay. The cottage has a delightful, secluded patio and private garden area, perfect for barbecuing some delicious freshly caught seafood from England’s Seafood Coast. If you prefer not to cook whilst you’re on holiday you can access the excellent fine-dining facilities, which includes breakfast, at the Cary Arms.
This newly-restored elegant fisherman’s cottage sea facing accommodation is less than a two-minute walk to neighbouring Cary Arms & Spa, an award-winning luxury boutique hotel and inn, where you can access the sunny private terrace and garden, dining area and full range of relaxing spa facilities including a hydrotherapy pool, sauna and steam room.
Babbacombe beach right on your doorstep
Beach Cottage is 0.5 miles from the picturesque Babbacombe Downs with plenty of traditional pubs with pretty floral displays and beer gardens, family-run cafes and tearooms serving Devon Cream Teas. There are spectacular sea views across Lyme Bay, along the Jurassic Coast towards Dorset as well as the famous Babbacombe Cliff Railway, Babbacombe Theatre, Babbacombe Model Village and at nearby St Marychurch (1.1 miles) you’ll find Bygones Museum and a popular shopping district with independent shops. Babbacombe Beach and Oddicombe Beach (0.9 miles) are a pebble’s throw away and accessible on foot, and a great choice for top family-friendly facilities, paddle-boarding, kayaking and other adventure and fun water sports.
Regular bus services, Stagecoach 22 and 122 to Torquay Harbourside (2.3miles) and Paignton (5.7 miles) can be accessed from the bus stop close to Drakes Fish & Chip Takeaway on Babbacombe Road (0.4 miles).
For the less mobile please be aware that there is a steep incline to access Beach Cottage and the surrounding amenities.
The surrounding 22 miles of stunning coastline forms part of the South West Coast Path and as Beach Cottage is a dog friendly venue, you can bring your four-legged friend along to enjoy the fresh air, large open green spaces and country and coastal walks.
