About
At Harbour Heights Guest House, we offer a very warm welcome and pride ourselves on our clean and comfortable accommodation. Set in a beautiful and convenient location, we are the perfect place to stay for your visit to Torquay. We have a lovely, sunny terrace overlooking the gardens for you to enjoy a glass of wine or sundowner in the evening or a morning cup of tea.
We serve our freshly prepared breakfasts in our guest dining room which looks across to the attractive and tranquil Torwood gardens. We have a selection of cooked hot dishes including a Full English, porridge, beans on toast or scrambled egg on toast. Guests have a wide choice of cereals, fresh fruit and yoghurts.
We are located on the edge of the town centre and the lively harbour, where you will find a great selection of places to eat and drink, with plenty of family-run cafes, Michelin starred fine dining restaurants, well-known big brand and independent takeaways. The English Riviera is also known as England’s Seafood Coast for the high-quality fish and shellfish which is caught and landed locally.
There are a number of steps to the front entrance and there is also a rear balcony door with a small step. Our bedrooms are located on the first and second floors. Please note that we do not have a lift and may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility and wheelchair users.
For entertainment we are right next door to Torquay Museum, a gateway site of the English Riviera UNESCO Global Geopark with family-friendly exhibitions, permanent galleries and seasonal events. The Princess Theatre is a 15-minute walk with an entertaining all year- round programme of live events from operas, ballets, well known comedians, national touring big West End musicals and chart-topping musicians. Babbacombe Theatre and The Little Theatre also offer great value shows for a fun night out. Riviera International Conference Centre is approximately 20 minutes away if you are planning to exhibit or attend an event or conference. There is also a popular leisure centre, Lifestyle Health and Fitness Suite and Waves Leisure Pool with a flume and wave machine. Fun for all the family, whatever the weather.
We have some of the best beaches in the South West with 10 having received top industry awards. Torre Abbey Sands, Babbacombe Beach, Oddicombe Beach and Meadfoot Beach are within easy reach and are ideal for sunbathing, swimming, paddle-boarding and kayaking. You will not be short of things to do to keep the whole family occupied.
Every room has en-suite bathroom facilities, a flat-screen TV, a hospitality tray with tea and coffee-making facilities, and a hairdryer and there is free Wi-Fi access throughout the property.
For guests arriving by car or motorbike we have some onsite parking spaces which have to be booked in advance and a small parking charge applies. There is ample street parking with charges up to 6pm each day as well as the all year-round pay-on-exit long stay Harbour Car Park within a 2-minute stroll. If you prefer to travel to the area by train, coach or bus, Torquay Railway Station (2.3 miles), Torre Railway Station (2 miles) and Lymington Road Coach Station (1.7 miles) are close by.
Harbour Heights is ideally located in a leafy district of Torquay with excellent access to all local amenities and attractions. We are a short 10-minute walk (1.8 miles) to the town centre for leisurely high street and designer shopping, Gala Bingo (0.9 miles) . There are also many other visitor attractions to discover including Kents Cavern prehistoric Caves, Babbacombe Model Village, Babbacombe Cliff Railway and Bygones Museum.
Harbour Heights is the perfect base to explore all that the English Riviera has to offer. We look forward to welcoming you soon.
