About
Headland View is an intimate Bed and Breakfast set within a Victorian townhouse, dating back to the 1870s. Babbacombe Downs is made up of a number of small hotels and Bed and Breakfasts. Headland View is one of only three bed and breakfast offering panoramic, unobstructed sea views looking over the spectacular world heritage coast of Lyme Bay.
Positioned directly on Babbacombe Downs, Headland View has six individual bedrooms. Four having French doors opening onto beautiful balconies, ideal to sit and relax while taking in the magnificent sea views and observe the many activities the Downs has to offer. Alternatively choose one of our delightful rear view rooms, top floor room offers a standard double or first floor room offers either super-king or twin beds.
On arrival you will be welcomed into our sun lounge to enjoy a choice of teas and coffee, along with a slice of home made cake. Take time to relax and unwind, whilst enjoying the beautiful view. When you’re ready, we will show you to your room where you’ll find soothing décor, comfortable beds, fresh linen and fluffy towels.
Please be aware that we do not accept infants or children. The maximum occupancy for any of our rooms is two people. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept dogs.
Our passion is to ensure every guest receives the best experience possible and has a rejuvenating stay with us.
Headland View has retained many of it's original Victorian features and architecture, with a sun lounge and pretty dinning room adjacent both to the front overlooking the sea, for you to enjoy your traditional freshly cooked breakfast or chose one of the daily specials pancakes with maple syrup, omelette, scrambled eggs with smoked salmon on English toasted muffin, french toast accompanied with fresh fruit . All accompanied by cereals, fresh fruit, Greek yogurt, fruit yogurts and toast with conserves and marmalade, with choice of teas or fresh coffee.
David and David will ensure a relaxing and memorable stay. A great place to stay for visiting the surrounding area of Torquay, Paignton, Brixham, Dartmouth, Dartmoor and the southwest coastal path. Ideally located for lovely blue flag beaches with a great choice of traditional English pubs and a large variety of restaurants nearby. Headland View, more than just the view.
Parking can be in high demand, particularly during the summer period. We have on-site complimentary parking, parking is now based upon a first come first parked basis, please request parking at time of booking, and subject to availability. two night stays, in peak months only available closer to arrival.
Headland View, Babbacombe is located on Babbacombe Downs, approximately two and half miles from Torquay. Walking into Torquay will take around 45 minutes, with most of the walk being down hill. We recommend using public transport (Stagecoach) when coming from Torquay to Headland View, due to the steep hills. Buses leave from outside Debenhams department store across from Torquay Harbour, the route is serviced by the number 22 or the number 122 through the season.
There are lots of attractions around Babbacombe, why not visit the Babbacombe Model Village, Bygones Museum, The Babbacombe Cliff Railway or The Babbacombe Theatre. Kent's Cavern is also close by.
We look forward to welcoming you to Headland View on the English Riviera.
