Ludwell House is Victorian Villa (c1890) set within the sought-after Cary Park conservation area of Babbacombe, Torquay. We have three spacious holiday apartments, two first floor with lovely views of the gardens and Cary Park and one at garden levels with direct access to a terrace and the garden

We have our own private parking although there is plenty of free off-road parking as well. There are lots of local shops, easy level access to Babbacombe Downs, beaches and excellent bus services. Within Cary Park most of the original villas still remain and the area retains its unique atmosphere of seclusion while still offering amenities such as a Bowling Green, Tennis Courts and Children’s Playground, not to mention the park itself and the Grade I Listed Church!

Our house is a short level walk to the Downs at Babbacombe and a five minute bus or car drive to the centre of Torquay. The local buses can take you all over South Devon and beyond but our favourite runs down to the harbour where you can take a stroll along the promenade stopping at one of the many cafes around the marina or why not take a boat trip? - a cruise round the bay or even a day boat trip to Brixham or Dartmouth.

Welcome to Babbacombe Bay on Devon’s English Riviera!  In 1846, Queen Victoria wrote: 'It's a beautiful spot... red cliffs and rocks with wooded hills like Italy and reminding one of a ballet or play where nymphs appear — such rocks and grottoes, with the deepest sea on which there was no ripple.'  Over 150 years later, it still feels the same as you stand and look across the beautiful bay.

The delightful gardens at Babbacombe Downs have attained the prestigious Green Flag award, an international accolade recognising the high environmental standards, excellent visitor facilities and maintenance of the site.
