About

Mariners Holiday cottage in Stoke Gabriel, near Dartmouth in South Devon and sits on the quay of picturesque Stoke Gabriel creek on the historic River Dart.

Mariners, a self catering cottage has parking directly opposite the cottage. Guests have a private enclosed garden which offers superb views over the Mill Pond and river Dart. This historic and unspoilt village still retains its ancient roots from the 800 year old yew tree in the churchyard to its gentle tangle of cottages leading down to the river where locals have fished for Dart Salmon for centuries. With its old Inns and the hubbub of daily life, it still retains that quintessential English village atmosphere.

From the quay by the River Dart, a popular crabbing spot for children, there are gentle strolls to be taken along the riverbank or through the old apple orchard and winding streets of the village where unexpected glimpses abound. There is always something to see and do in this lively community where everyone is made welcome.

Many of our guests return to Mariners Cottage in Stoke Gabriel year after year and tell us that it's like a home from home without the heavy price tag of other rental cottages in the area.

Mariners has been tastefully refurbished to a high standard...yet unlike many others still retains the charm and cosy feel of a fishermans cottage by the side of the water.

Inside Mariners Cottage you will find all of the mod-cons required to make this a comfortable stay in Stoke Gabriel. As you enter you are welcomed into a sitting/dining room with feature stone fireplace, which includes a gas wood burning stove.

Mariners has a modern gas central heating with individually thermostatic controls plus all windows are double glazed which will keep you snug and warm during a winter break. In this room you will find a phone and Wi-Fi plus our book and games collection. Please note that phone calls made after 7pm and before 7am and at weekends are free of charge (except for calls to mobile phones which are chargable). If you use the phone at any other times you will be charged and this will be deducted from your security deposit.

From the sitting room a door leads to the kitchen, which is modern and fully fitted. Including: Gas hob and electric oven, microwave, fridge freezer, washing machine with separate tumble drier. Cutlery and crockery for 6 along with a full range of modern cooking utensils are to be found in the kitchen.

Upstairs there are 2 large bedrooms, one being a double with plenty of storage. The 2nd being a twin with an ensuite shower room, wash basin and toilet. Again this room has wardrobes and more than ample storage. Both rooms have fabulous views over the Mill Pond and woodland beyond.

Please note that we do provide duvets & pillows but you are required to bring  bed linen, towels and T towels

for use during your stay. If you have any questions please call us.

Also upstairs there is a fully fitted, modern bathroom with bath and handheld shower. There is an airing cupboard and controls for the hot water and central heating.
