Muntham Apartments and Town House offers great value self-catering accommodation in the attractive and peaceful leafy area of Wellswood in Torquay. The property was built in the 1850’s and has an idyllic setting within an acre of grounds and pretty, well-maintained gardens.
This delightful Victorian Villa provides easy access to Wellswood Village (0.3 miles) for independent shops, hair and beauty salons, family-run cafes, trendy bistros, a delicatessen, supermarket, post office and The Kents, a popular pub with a spacious beer garden. It is also a short walk to Kents Cavern, one of Europe’s most exciting Stone Age Caves and home to Britain’s earliest humans and Ice Age beasts (0.5 miles). This fascinating visitor attraction is a gateway site to the English Riviera’s UNESCO Global Geopark and not to be missed.
Muntham Apartments and Town House has operated as self-catering holiday apartments for over fifty years. Please be aware that the property does not have a lift and access to the first-floor apartments is via the staircase. There are two ground floor level apartments and four apartments on the first floor. The town house consists of three floors and the main access to the building is from the ground floor level entrance where there is a 10cm high step to the carpeted hallway.
Guests can use the onsite car park which has marked parking bays and is conveniently located at the front of the building. The nearest bus stops are located at St Matthias Church on Babbacombe Road (0.3 miles) and there are frequent bus services operating between Torquay (1.2 miles), Paignton (4.4 miles) and Brixham (9.5 miles) on the English Riviera. Torquay Railway Station (2.2 miles), Torre Railway Station (2.3 miles) and Torquay Coach Station (1.4 miles) are easily accessible if you are planning to travel to the South West by train, coach or bus and there are many local taxi companies providing assistance with guests with luggage and taking advance bookings.
Muntham Apartments and Town House is pleased to welcome well-behaved four-legged visitors, who can stay in the pet-friendly ground floor level apartments as well as in the Townhouse. The apartments provide quick access to the gardens and grounds for those night-time and early morning visits and pet stops.
The English Riviera is known for having some of the best beaches in the UK, and a visit to this top seaside destination isn’t complete without a day out at one of the 20 local beaches, with 10 having received the prestigious Blue Flag and Seaside Awards for their cleanliness and water quality. Meadfoot Beach (1.6 miles), Oddicombe Beach and Babbacombe Beach (1.8 miles) can be accessed on foot from Barrington Road.
For keen walkers and ramblers, the famous South West Coast Path provides a captivating walking trail which meanders along 22 miles of the English Riviera’s coastline, with some of the most spectacular settings in South Devon and plenty of opportunities for grabbing the camera or taking a selfie.
Torquay Harbourside and Marina (1.2 miles) is a hotspot for night-time entertainment with lively bars, traditional pubs, waterfront cafes and independent restaurants to choose from. There are also some of the top visitor attractions including The Real Crime Museum and Escape Rooms.
