About
The Downs is on the seafront bordering the Babbacombe Downs. Situated on the clifftop we have 12 en-suite rooms, 8 with balconies enjoying fabulous unobstructed sea views along the coastline to Teignmouth, round to Lyme Bay and all the way to Portland Bill. We have 3 family rooms (reduced rates for children under 12). All rooms have hospitality trays including ground coffee and hot chocolate, TV's, hairdryers and free WiFi access. Hair straighteners are available upon request. We are fully licensed, our Lounge Bar and spacious restaurant with snug provides additional space for our guests to enjoy. We are also dog friendly with a number of allocated rooms for pets. During the summer months the forecourt café provides an excellent area to relax and enjoy the view with an icecream, a traditional cream tea or a refreshing beer.
Parking is available in a Pay & Display car park at the rear of the property or there is free on street parking nearby. We are only 1.5 miles from Torquay harbour, with great bus links or 20 minutes walking.
Fancy taking in a show? We are able to get you discounted rates for the mid-week varierty show Starlight at Babbacombe Theatre. We can also obtain priority seating at other shows, subject to availability.

From M5 head for Torquay A380. Continue on the A380 South Devon Highway. At the end of A380 dual carriageway turn left onto the A3022 (signposted Torquay). Continue forward onto Riviera Way - A3022. Entering Torquay Lowes Bridge, at traffic signals turn left onto the B3199 (signposted Teignmouth). At Hele Cross roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Hele Road - B3199 (signposted Teignmouth). At mini-roundabout turn left then immediately at next mini-roundabout turn right onto Westhill Road (signposted Plainmoor). At traffic signals turn left onto Manor Road (signposted St Marychurch, Babbacombe A379). At traffic signals turn right onto Babbacombe Road - A379. Turn left onto Princes Street.
