The Agatha Christie Festival presents: A Spring Gathering (12 April 2025)

The Agatha Christie Festival welcomes visitors to experience A Spring Gathering in celebration of the new Agatha Christie statue. Enjoy author talks, book signings, and the Swinging Christies podcast. The day then ends with a glamorous ball at the Imperial Hotel. Attendees receive exclusive memorabilia, celebrating Agatha in her hometown with style and flair. 

Set Sail for Adventure: The Brixham Pirate Festival (2 – 4 May 2025)

Kick off the year’s festivities with the beloved Brixham Pirate Festival, a weekend packed with family-friendly entertainment, live music, and maritime history. Watch the port town transform into a bustling haven of pirates, a shanty market, complete with reenactments and seaside shenanigans for all ages.

Sky-High Excitement: English Riviera Airshow (31 May – 1 June 2025)

​​​​​​​The Agatha Christie Festival Spring Gathering will be held on Saturday, 12th April 2025 to celebrate the unveiling of the new Agatha Christie statue in Torquay, commissioned by Torbay Council. The statue of Agatha with her favourite dog Peter has been created by Brixham-based sculptor, Elisabeth Hadley. To coincide with this historic moment that celebrates the Queen of Crime in her home town of Torquay, the Agatha Christie Festival has created an exclusive, exciting and celebratory one-day Spring Gathering.

The annual Brixham Pirate Festival, with a crew made up of first-time brigands and buccaneers, held in Brixham, Devon takes place over the Early May Bank Holiday weekend, is a swashbuckling mix of seaside shenanigans and pirate-themed fun for all the family. The Brixham Pirate Festival is a free to attend event that can only happen with the contributions The Nao Victoria will be sailing into Brixham Harbour especially for the 2024 Brixham Pirate Festival, and will be available for viewing throughout the entire festival.

The naturally inspiring sky of the English Riviera is ready to host the Bays flagship event. The two-day aerial-extravaganza also boasts an array of on-the-ground entertainment to keep airshow fans and families entertained for hours.   The official designated car park for the free-to-attend event is the Victoria Car Park on Garfield Road, Paignton, and is just a short walk from the main event site on Paignton Green. Since the first English Riviera Airshow in 2016, the event is one of the first airshows of the UK season. The stand-out coastal event continues to wow locals and tourists as they flock to Paignton seafront for the two-day extravaganza.

Torbay will host the SUP championships as part of a 4 year plan to bring international level competition to this spectacular South Devon Resort. The crystal waters and stunning scenery of this world renowned GeoPark was once home to Agatha Christies and the inspiration for Indiana Jones. Today it is one of the UK's premier coastal resorts with palms trees and warm waters which helped give Torbay the name of English Riviera. This two day event will include a festival of stand up paddle board races, activities, demonstrations and presentations.

Every year Torquay celebrates the life and work of its most famous resident with a Festival, supported by the Arts Council of England, and this year is no exception.
