Saltwater Fish Restaurant and Takeaway is a traditional, family-friendly Fish and Chip shop located in the heart of Torquay's picturesque harbourside. At Saltwater Fish Restaurant and Takeaway we pride ourselves on using responsibly sourced, high quality fish and only use the best British farmed potatoes. Look out for our special Catch of The Day with grilled, chargrilled, lightly crumbed, crisp fried batter and gluten-free batter cooking options.

We have a wide selection of light bites, starters and Lunchtime Specials, served between 12pm and 5pm. There are healthy, smaller sized dishes on our Children’s menu, all served with chips plus a free activity sheet for some extra entertainment.

We work with local fishermen to provide you with exciting new fish dishes daily from line-caught haddock to Brixham plaice!  Some of the finest, freshest fish and shellfish caught in England’s Seafood Coast is landed locally and sold at Brixham Fish Market, the biggest fishing port in England by value.  A visit to the English Riviera, one of the country’s top seaside resorts isn’t complete without sampling some tasty traditional fish and chips with MSC certified cod or haddock, or our popular seafood combo.

You can enjoy Saltwater Fish Restaurant and Takeaway in the comfort of our spacious, recently refurbished, 50-seater restaurant with modern and pleasant décor. You may prefer to choose the take away option to enjoy your delicious fish lunch or supper, take in the attractive views and Mediterranean-style mild climate. Alternatively, we now offer a convenient delivery take away service straight to your door, especially useful if you are enjoying a self-catering holiday on the English Riviera.   

Saltwater Fish Restaurant and Takeaway is a fully licenced restaurant serving some of the best quality, South West produce including popular alcoholic drinks and local specialities such as Salcombe Gin and Bays Craft Lager, brewed in Paignton.

There’s a great selection for meat lovers with locally made beef and chicken burgers, grilled or battered sausages, and mouth-watering steaks, all supplied by a South West based butcher.  There are non-meat/fish options too such as the flavoursome coriander falafel burger in a brioche bun with lettuce and tomato.  Gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options are also available. Please let us know if you have specific dietary needs.

Saltwater Fish Restaurant & Takeaway is conveniently placed within the English Riviera and it’s the ideal place for a refreshment stop when exploring Devon’s Beautiful Bay, taking in the stunning landscape that forms part of the UNESCO Global Geopark and the 22 miles of the South West Coast Path.  It is just 1.3 miles from Torquay town centre, 2.7 miles from Cockington Village, 3.3 miles from the neighbouring town of Paignton and 8.5 miles from the quaint, fishing town of Brixham. Our prominent waterfront location on Torquay Harbourside makes it very easy to find us.  Whether you’re travelling on foot, by car, cycle or motorbike you’ll be assured of a friendly and warm welcome and great service.  The English Riviera has excellent transport links with regular bus services running between Torquay and Brixham and a rail service, connecting with all parts of the country with Rail Stations at Torquay (1.2 miles away) and Torre (1.6 miles).  

We are open every day of the week from 12pm to 10pm throughout the year.  Based within a dog-friendly resort, we warmly welcome well-behaved dogs and their owners in the restaurant until 6pm daily.
