A COTTAGE STEEPED IN HISTORY

Located within the picturesque village of Maidencombe on the outskirts of Torquay The Thatched Tavern is a beautiful, low-ceilinged picture postcard thatched building steeped in history.

FOOD & DRINK
We believe in keeping it simple and that great ingredients are crucial. Serving ‘modern Devon’ food made primarily from locally-sourced seasonal ingredients we have strong relationships with producers to ensure the best possible produce for our guests.
Food is served from noon, so you can even stop by for lunch. Whether it’s a light bite, or a steak you’re after, our menu features all of the delicious pub classics that you’d expect including reworked English classics with creative and tasty touches. Daily specials allow the Chefs to take advantage of fresh fish, limited availability game and kitchen garden produce, as the seasons allow. Being family focused we understand the need to provide nutritious smaller meals for little ones. We believe that kids should be able to eat the same as the adults, so we offer most of our dishes at half the size for half the cost
We have a fantastic selection of local wines and beers – no matter what your tipple, there’ll be something for you; we serve smooth draught lagers, craft beers, ciders, wine, cocktails and soft drinks – the perfect Torquay Pub experience!
A PICTURESQUE ENGLISH GARDEN
There is no better way to spend a sunny afternoon or early evening than sipping on a chilled drink in the surroundings of a picturesque English garden. Relax in the landscaped gardens and admire the colourful plants and flowers whilst our attentive staff bring you food and drinks. The garden is an ideal place to unwind after a coastal walk offering shade, water for dogs and a place to explore for little ones.
