About
Tucked away just a few steps from Torquay harbour, The Orange Tree is renowned for it's seasonally changing a la carte menu offering modern British-European cuisine complemented by warm and friendly hospitality.
Elegant surroundings, crisp white table linen and candlelight create the perfect backdrop for that special occasion or just an enjoyable, relaxed evening out. The reassuring presence of the working owner, Vittorio Melis, and his belief in time-honoured values, allows you to dine safe in the knowledge, that you are well looked after.
The dedicated team of chefs are very passionate about showcasing the culinary flavours the Westcountry has to offer. Superb-quality ingredients and fresh locally sourced produce are treated with respect and great care in order to shine on the plate. Delicious home-made breads, flavoursome chutneys and sauces, as well as heavenly desserts are all skillfully prepared from scratch and beautifully presented for you to enjoy.
The diverse wine list offers a selection of traditional European classics and some excellent New World favourites, but also a few varieties of Devon and Cornwall vineyards.
A WARM WELCOME AWAITS YOU
AWARDS & RECOGNITION
Throughout the years the restaurant achieved some prestigious awards such as 'Restaurant of the Year' by Les Routiers and 'GOLD - Tourism & Hospitality Awards, English Riviera - South Devon'. The Orange Tree is also repeatedly featured and recommended by the annually published MICHELIN Guide and THE GOOD FOOD GUIDE. The highest reward however, derives from returning guests and followers with their continuous custom and reassuring feedback.
MENU
WELCOME TO OUR LATEST WINE LIST - We feel it is important that as our menu continues to change and evolve, our wine list too must be kept up to date.
We trust that our wine selection not only offers outstanding quality and value, but also gives a sound representation of both principal grape varieties and the wine producing areas.
Customer Reviews:
This is my absolute favourite restaurant but having visited for the last 10 years, I have had everything on the menu! Everything is cooked to perfection and is most worthy of a Michelin star x 4. Being fairly local, I haven’t seen much change in the menu over the last 10 years so it is with regret that I have become bored!! However if you are visiting Devon, you won’t be disappointed! Please change menu and I shall return again for another 10 years!! The staff are amazing! Always felt like royalty!!
Food and service was out of this world. Shame we are only in torquay for a few nights or we would visit again
Thank you so much for your service! We are really pleased by the food quality and style, everything was excellent! See you soon!
