About
100 years ago building work began at Coleton Fishacre.
The once bare coastal valley was transformed into the Arts and Crafts retreat you see today, under the creative gaze of architect Oswald Milne and it owners Rupert D'Oyly Carte and his wife Lady Dorothy. The family even documented the build from start to finish with their own camera, from the first trenches dug and foundations laid to completing the roof and landscaping the terraces.
To celebrate the centenary, we're showcasing the family's private photo album in a pop-up exhibition this year, with archive images not seen before, alongside walks, talks, weekly cocktail hours and more.
Creating Coleton Fishacre: photographic exhibition
3 May - 2 November
On display for the first time, archive images from the family's personal photo album as they document the build of Coleton Fishacre. Pop-up exhibition in the house and garden.
Coleton Cocktail hour
Wednesdays at 4pm from 7 May onwards
In true 20s style, we'll be recreating cocktails from the Savoy Cocktail Book in the house. Come along and sample a different one each week. Over 18s only.
Pop-up talks in the House
Mondays, 3pm
Every Monday afternoon join one of the team for a pop-up talk on the designers and artists that shaped Coleton Fishacre.
Summer evenings in the garden

We're opening the garden until late for balmy summer evening walks.
