About
Join a local crime writer to hear the stories of Torquay’s colourful underworld.
Billy Kimber (Peaky Blinders), Bruce Reynolds (The Great Train Robbery), John Lee (the man they couldn’t hang) and many more infamous criminals made Torquay their home. Maybe it was the mild climate, the sea air and hours of sunshine that brought them to this coastline?
What makes this tour extra special is the presence of a real crime writer https://alisimpson.co.uk/ who has been inspired by these characters and their stories to create her first murder mystery novel – Murder under the rock – which is set in Torquay!
If you’ve ever wondered how crime writers create their characters and where they find their inspiration, you’ll have a chance to ‘interrogate’ Ali during the tour and discover her secrets. And no doubt she’ll be delighted to sign her books!
Discover how Bruce Reynolds was captured
