Foraging connects us to the natural world
This immersive foraging experience takes place in Cockington, which is a gem of a village within Torquay, dating back over 1000 years and set in over 400 acres of woodlands. The tour is suited for anyone who has an interest in foraging and would like to discover more about the plants and flowers that grow in the wild. Flora will walk guests through a variety of habitats to familiarise yourself with where each plant likes to grow! This easy – paced ramble will deepen your connection to nature and teach you how to safely and sustainably forage, all the while discovering nature’s hidden treasures right in front of you.
Explore the key plant characteristics
Uncover the cultural significance and bizarre folklore of each plant, delving into their historical uses in cooking and medicine.
Learn some practical tips about the preparation, preservation and cooking of foraged plants, making sure you get the most out of your finds.
