“The Body on the Beach”

Spring was definitely in the air but in the pretty Devon seaside resort of Lydmouth tragedy has struck. A body has been found in the sea and what at first was thought to be a dreadful accident soon took a different and more sinister turn when the postmortem revealed that there were one or two small discrepancies which required further investigation.

A regular swimmer, Donald Worthing could be seen early each day taking his usual dip in the sea. All through the year, whatever the weather, Mr Worthing made his way to the beach for an invigorating swim.

However, on that fateful day, Annette Worthing, his wife became alarmed when he didn’t return home, and she contacted the police. After a search by the RNLI and the Coastguard, Mr Worthing’s body was found in the sea, apparently drowned.

An investigation ensued where key family and friends of the deceased were brought together. The Investigator, with the help of guests present was determined to get to the truth before the afternoon was over.
