We all work in a very ‘fragile’ and seasonal industry that can be impacted overnight by external forces beyond our control with recent years continuing to present a number of concerns and challenges. Our experience has taught us that if we are to lobby effectively for support packages for Levy Payers then we need evidence to present to Government to argue and prove our case.
For this reason the money we continue to invest in the confidential monthly ERBID How’s Business Survey is really important as it provides us with up to date data that allows us to react quickly to changing trends and inform our lobbying priorities. We ask that more Levy payers take the time to complete this really important and confidential survey.
In addition we invest in an annual Visitor Survey that monitors feedback on what our visitors like and dislike about the English Riviera and key trends relating to UK Staycations. The market place continues to change, visitor expectations are increasing and we all operate in a fiercely competitive environment. We need to know what our visitors are thinking. Will they recommend us and will they return?
To maximise all of our Research work we work with strategic partners like the Greater South West Tourism Partnership (Devon, Cornwall, Somerset, Dorset) to share costs to undertake bespoke pieces of research as we did specifically through COVID that did help secure additional grants for Levy payers.
