Representing over 1300 Tourism and Hospitality Businesses the ERBID Company have become a strong lobbying voice representing local business concerns.

The ERBID How’s Business Monthly Survey provides continuing evidence to share with our MP’s and national representatives to highlight business issues and work to secure positive interventions.

Particular political lobbying campaigns working with the Greater South West Tourism Partnership have included:

Grant support during COVID19
Lower rate of VAT
Business Rates revaluation
Statutory Registration for all Accommodation
Asylum Seeker Accommodation
Increased Energy Costs
Staffing & Recruitment

The ERBID Company works closely with our local MP’s and works to provide statistics for them to help debate on our behalf. Here is one of the recent lobbying debates in the Houses of Parliament by Kevin Foster MP.

In addition, we work proactively to secure visits by the Minister of Tourism so that these issues can be discussed in a coordinated way face to face. The next visit planned is Spring 2023.

Tourism Awards

Every year a growing number of Levy Payers are winning high profile awards that are significantly helping to raise the profile of the English Riviera.
Destination Management Plan

Working in partnership with the ERBID Company the English Riviera Destination Management Plan (DMP) 2022-2030 replaces the previous DMP (2017-2021) and sets out the new vision and objectives, markets for growth, development themes, management, delivery model and action plan to take the destination forward.
Visitor Information Centre

The English Riviera Visitor Information Centre is situated on Torquay Harbourside and is open all year.
