The multi award-winning English Riviera Visitor Information Centre is situated on Torquay harbourside and is open all year. The Centre is managed by the ERBID Company and in 2023 handled over 44,000 enquiries per year through face-to-face counter visits, email, telephone and Social Media enquiries.
The English Riviera Visitor Information Centre is managed by Katrine Harrington and a small team of seasonal staff and volunteers. The Centre provides a ‘one stop shop’ for visitors, helping with all aspects of their stay, ranging from what to see and do, to information on public transport and parking.
A wealth of free information is available in the Centre: leaflets for levy-paying businesses, maps, area guides and fact sheets. There is also a good selection of publications available to purchase, bringing in extra commercial revenue to the ERBID. These include local-interest reference and fiction books, guides and Ordnance Survey maps.
Other visitor services include: What’s On, theatre bookings for Babbacombe Theatre and Palace Theatre, Stagecoach and Sightseeing Tour bus tickets, and the promotion of local events and festivals.
Promotional services for ERBID Businesses include:
- Opportunities for window poster display (contact the team for pricing)
- Opportunities for A-board display (contact the team for pricing)
- Opportunities for poster display around the resort (contact the team for pricing)
- Free Leaflet display

MEET THE VIC TEAM
Katrine Harrington, Visitor Information Manager
Katrine first started work as a Seasonal Information Assistant in March 1992 and returned for several years before pursuing a career in Estate Agency. In 2009 the advantage of a failing property market gave her the opportunity to return to the job she has always loved.
Having always lived within the English Riviera, Katrine has an excellent local knowledge and enjoys sharing and advising visitors with their often very diverse questions.
Katrine has completed various training courses including Welcome to Excellence, Welcome International, Welcome All and DisabledGo and attained ‘Enjoy England' Foundation and Intermediate Awards.
Fee White, Visitor Information Assistant
Fee owned a guest house in Paignton for 9 years and enjoyed the interactions with guests, telling them what a beautiful place the English Riviera is to visit. So when she sold the guest house and the opportunity came up to work at the Visitor Information Centre, she was thrilled! She is very happy to talk about the place where she lives, and loves.
She has her own business called Hospitality Angel where she supports new guest house owners to get the best out of their lifestyle change, and since Covid she has built up a local gardening round.
In her spare time, Fee enjoys supporting and performing in the local theatres, where she has performed in 3 of the 6 amazing theatres we have available to us here in the English Riviera.
