Torbay Council have confirmed that Torquay's Illumination Trail, part of the wider Bay of Lights spectacular, is set to return in 2024. The dates will be Friday 29 Nov 2024 - Thursday 2 Jan 2025.
The 2023/24 Illumination Trail was organised by Torbay Council using funding secured through its successful Towns Deal Funding bid and supported by the English Riviera BID Company and SWISCo. The free-to-attend trail was given a resounding sparkly thumbs-up by the large numbers of residents and visitors who crowded the seafront every evening.
Local businesses reported a boost in trade amid the festive atmosphere. An online survey held by Torbay Council after the event reported that almost 70% of respondents used local business whilst on the trail. Feedback overall was overwhelmingly positive with over 90% of respondents rating the Illumination Trail 4 out of 5 (with an average of 4.57!). You can view the full survey report by clicking here.
The Illumination Trail is part of the Bay of Lights. This wintertime celebration, co-sponsored by ERBID, is when the whole Bay comes alive with a flurry of illuminated events including the Train of Lights in Paignton, Lanterns, Lights & 'Luminations in Brixham, and many more. As the 2024 Bay of Lights draws near, the official English Riviera website will be regularly updated here with full details of all the shimmering events set to keep the Bay sparkling through December.
